We had a wee little visitor stay with us this past weekend and we had a blast together. Some of the things that come out of the mouth of a 4 year old can having you laughing so hard you'll pee your pants.
Yep, her bags were packed, two tone (her stuffed dog that goes with her everywhere) was buckled in too and we were off to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa.
She got to spend the afternoon at the dog park with Christina and the boys. She LOVES Dexter. Believe it or not Dexter is a little intimidated by her. It might have something to do with her charging towards him to give him hugs...freaks him out a little.
We played Crazy 8 (me, Robert, Kevin & Aria). Kevin was the loser of the bunch having never won a game. When Kevin sat down he said he didn't know how to play. Aria quickly told him she would teach him. Aria won the first game and let us all know it! She is very good at winning, not so hot at losing.
Bath time! Grandma I want to take a bath in your tub because it is like a swimming pool and I can swim in it. Who could turn that down. So we filled it up, added some bubbles, turned on the jets and became engulfed in a sea of white foam. We built bubble castles for entertainment.
I asked her to brush her teeth, "no spicy toothpaste Grandma, I don't like it". So she perches herself in front of my makeup mirror, you know the one that magnifies and says "oh my Gosh!!! My face is SO BIG (giggle) I look like a big person!"
I showed her the Christmas dress I bought her, velvet on top, taffeta and tulle with sparkles on the bottom in a beautiful blue. "Oh my gosh, it is so BEAUTIFUL Grandma. I will look like a princess in it. Thank you!!" I love how generous she is with her thank yous.
Once in her PJs, she zoomed downstairs while I cleaned up the aftermath of bubbles throughout the bathroom.
Walking into the living room, this is what I saw. Grandpa (whom she has a tendency to call Uncle Robert and he eats it up because it means he's younger than me!) and Aria building a robot. Can you say, melt my heart. Come on, wouldn't it you too?
Off to bed to watch "a movie with a Princess, Grandma, it has to have a princess in it!" Hmmm, not something I have just sitting around but eventually we found Chronicles of Narnia. After all this was the guise to get her to fall asleep. Lots of fluffy pillows and blankets, snuggled all in and ready for movie time.

I'd like to say she went right to sleep but that would be a lie. She stayed awake until the last 5 minutes of the movie, snuggled in my arms, and snoring like a man. Grandma is pooped too and ready for sleep! Sunday was all about beating me at the Wii and picking up her Daddy at the airport.
